SIPA to Demonstrate Green Building with Structural Insulated Panels at International Builders Show
ORLANDO—Builders looking to build “green” homes can learn about energy efficient, environmentally sustainable construction with structural insulated panels (SIPs) at the International Builders Show, February 7-10, at the Orange County Convention Center.
The Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) will host hands-on demonstrations with SIP building professionals inside the 3,000 sq. ft. SIPA Village exhibit. SIPA will also be leading two one-hour educational seminars on February 8. The SIP Basics seminar will cover the fundamentals of sustainable SIP construction, tips on planning and preparation, and cost comparisons with stud framing. Builders familiar with SIPs can attend the Advanced SIP Construction Concepts seminar, addressing installation techniques, electrical and siding applications, and whole house system integration to get the most performance out of a green SIP home.
The SIP Basics seminar will begin at 9:00am and the Advanced seminar will begin at 4:00pm. Both seminars are in room 315 in the West Hall of the convention center.
“The SIP seminars have a lot to offer for everyone, from builders curious about SIPs to experienced SIP installers,” said Bill Wachtler, Executive Director of SIPA.
Shorter demonstrations will be conducted inside the SIPA Village exhibit, lead by Al Cobb, veteran panel installer and founder of the SIP School.
“I will give demonstrations throughout the day in the SIPA booth showing common connection systems and methods used in SIP installation,” said Cobb.
SIP manufacturers will be exhibiting inside the SIPA village, along with suppliers of SIP components and accessories.
“The SIPA Village is a one stop shop for everything SIPs,” said Wachtler. “Visitors to our booth can see informative demonstrations and get their questions answered by SIP industry professionals.”
The SIPA Village will be located at booth number W3574 in the Orange County Convention Center. For a complete schedule of seminars and demonstrations, visit www.sips.org.
